Week 2 - Nougat and Oil

Hello again my friends.... now I have an apology to make... I know I did not make a post last week with my two items... I just somehow lost track of time and before I knew it the week was over so I am putting up two weeks worth of posts today to make up for it. Again, I'm sorry, I know what you're all thinking "Gosh, it's only her second week and she's already forgetting" but I will admit... I am human, so there will be weeks that I do forget but I will try my best to get this post up every week.

So that being said lets move onto the items I tried: The first being Nougat with Cranberry and Nut. My first impression of this item of food was that the contents were spread evenly throughout the nougat and I already kind of knew that I was going to like this one as I LOVE nougat. After trying the pieces I can definitely say that the nougat was complimented by the extra added sweetness of the cranberry, which also oddly enough gave it a tartness too. And the crunch that the nut introduced was the perfect balance of textures. The nougat itself was absolutely divine!!! This is my new favourite sweet.
Will I be purchasing this again? Hells to the yes I will (I actually already have, but don't tell anyone).

The second item was Premium Liquid Coconut Oil. My first impression was sceptical because I have tried coconut oil in the past as it was all the rage and meant to be a healthier alternative when cooking but I found the type I bought before left that coconutty flavour in dishes that didn't really need it. And upon doing some research it seems that there is no actual evidence that coconut oil is healthier to cook with that normal olive oil. The both have their pros and cons health wise, I think it is more just up to personal taste. (Please KINDLY correct me if I'm wrong, I am in no way a health professional or doctor so I could be completely wrong). The saving grace for this item when I purchased it was that it stated it was actually flavour free, so I decided to put it to the test.... I used this oil in every meal that I would usually use olive or vegetable oil for the week to see if I (or more importantly, if my partner) could notice the difference in taste. So I used it cooking steaks, in stirfrys, cooking fish and in baking and to be honest with you, I am still using it to this day.... My partner did not notice I have changed oils at all, so the taste was not changed. And I know its all in my head but when cooking, adding a clear oil instead of the normal yellow one just made me feel like I was cooking healthier. Again, I know its all in my head ha ha
Will I be purchasing this again? Honestly, I would love to. But at the price point it was at for the amount you get, I don't think this is something that I would be able to afford on the regular. When its on sale, by all means I would get it again but at $9.35 for 250ml, I just can't get that all the time =(

Thanks again for tuning in and I will post my next weeks purchases right now to get us back up to date =)
